Whenever there is a ‘Vidya Balan’ film ready to release there is a assured amount of hope involved before the audience pay money for a ticket. What makes her feel responsible towards them or if it bulldoze her?
Vidya said “I feel very gratifying that people have those expectations from me even though few of my past films haven’t done something grate on screen. However, it’s not been a stress at all,” admits the actress.
“I never ever suppose if this is the exactly a film to do. I always think whether I want to perform this film as an audience. Whether I would want to watch this film. As an actor whether I want to do the film. Do I want to play this role? If that decisive factor is fulfilled then I go ahead and provide my best. I don’t think it as a stress,” Vidya adds.
She accepts Bollywood can sometimes be intolerant about failures. “When a film doesn’t work well it smashes your heart. It’s a truth you have to face. I talk about it with Siddharth, my family. Sometimes, I cry, but finally, I move on,” she says; even though her eyes make known that she might have just witnessed a flashback of few such moments.
Adroitly pulling the conversation back to her upcoming flim, Vidya says she is pleased with the admiration showered by the audience for the trailer of ‘Begum Jaan’. “Everyone has been saying I got goose bumps..Here is a different kind of get-up-and-go in the film. Everyone’s calling me badass and I feel affection for it!,” she jokes, “I have never been called badass before.”
Amazingly, despite her meticulous preparation to whip out remarkable hit films — and being critically acclaimed for her graceful down-to-earth performances — Vidya never comprehends movie reviews of her films. “I don’t read reviews at all. I don’t even read the stories which are available about me. If there is any review or story that is really well-written, my dad or my friend circle informs me about it. she ends the conversation.
