Mexico Earthquake, A muscular earthquake of magnitude 8.2 has struck in the Pacific off the southern shore of Mexico.
The United States environmental Survey said. The epicentre was almost 87km south-west of the town of Pijijiapan and at a deepness of 70km.Mexico earthquake.
Hence, for Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama and HondurasA tsunami caution is issued.
The tremors present have stayed up to 60 seconds.
In Mexico’s Chiapas state, nearer to the epicenter, in report they stated 2 death, while in Tabasco state 2 more reported . Yet, Guatemala’s president also reported at least one death in his country. In southern Mexico & in Guatemala buildings got harmed.
If confirmed at magnitude 8.2, the quake in conclusion would be bigger in power to those that struck Mexico in 1995 and 1985. The final hit close to Mexico City and caused 1000s of deaths.
The Mexican interior ministry has given the most recent quake a higher magnitude, probably of 8.4.
Later than the latest quake a series of aftershocks ranging from 4.2 to 5.8 in magnitude reported nearer to the Mexican shore, near Paredon.
As a results, in the capital some power(electricity) cuts detected, but there are no reports of bigger damage.
One tourist to the city, Luis Carlos Briceno, told: “I had never been anywhere where the earth moved so much.”
Resident Liliana Villa, who fled her apartment, said: “It felt terrible, and I consideration, ‘this is going to collapse.”
Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales appealed for calm on national television and in a Twitter post.
Mr. Morales as mentioned: “We have reports of some damage and the death of one person, although we still don’t have accurate details.” No tsunami caution issued for the US west coast.
Mexico is currently also being in danger due to on its eastern coast by Hurricane Katia.
The National Hurricane Center said; The category one hurricane is about three hundred km south-east of Tampico and has constant winds of 140+km per hour due to earthquake.
