On Monday the Iran army force head warned Islamabad, which said Tehran would launch an attack inside the Pakistan if the government doesn’t confront Sunni militants who carry out the cross-border attacks. According to the Iran, a Sunni militant group, Jaish al-Adl killed ten Iranian border guard last month; they were shot with long-range guns, fired from inside Pakistan.
Both the drug smuggler gangs and separatist militants have been using the border area as their base for so long.
Major General Mohammad Baqeri, the head of the Iranian armed forces said- the continuation of this situation can’t be accepted anymore and expect the Pakistani officials to control the borders soon arrest the terrorists along with shutting down their bases. Furthermore, he added, if those terrorist attack will continue, then we will never sit quietly and hit their safe havens and cells, whenever and wherever they are.
For resolving the matter, Mohammad Javad Zarif, the foreign minister of Iron visited Pakistan last week and asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for increasing the border security, as a reply Pakistan assured Iran that it would deploy the additional force along its border.
Iran warned Pakistan before too because in 2014 Jaish al-Adl kidnapped five Iranian border guards and for retrieving them Iran warned that it would send troops to Pakistan. That time Pakistan covered behind the international law and warned Iranian forces not to cross the border by saying, such action would be the violation of the international law.
Iran swallowed it and didn’t send the troops when a local Sunni cleric stepped in and resolved the situation. After the few months, four of the guards were released, but militants killed one.
And that wasn’t the only time when Jaish al-Adl (Sunni militant group) attacked Iranian security forces. The aim for there is highlighting what they say is discrimination against minority Sunni Muslims in Iran. Shiites hold the majority in Iron.
Along with the kidnapping five Iranian border guards and killing 10 Iranian border guards, the Sunni militant group also responsible for
April 2015, in which eight border guards were killed along with the attack that killed 14 border guards in October 2013.
